Weigh in and Afghans

I weighed in yesterday and I gained a pound. Now I'm not to worried, I have rediscovered bread. MMMMM Bread, drool drool I also went out to eat last Friday night with DH, we had a nice steak dinner and a trip to Best Buy to finish Christmas shopping.

Last night I finished Eric's afghan, just in time too. Today I found out I will be having a new great niece/nephew in July. I should make the afghan now because I only crochet in the winter, but I think I will wait and to find out what colors my niece would like for this one. : )

Here is a picture of the girls under the two afghans, Gradeyn's is blue and Eric's is Red. The blue one has the same amount of yarn, it is just smaller because I used a smaller hook and the yarn wasn't as fluffy. I Found a couple more skeins of the blue and will tack them on before I send it out. I don't want Gradeyn's little toes to get cold before he's 30 ish. :)

Until next time Happy Holiday !!

Weigh in and I know, I know. :o/

First the weigh in news, I am now offically at -16 lbs as of Monday. I have also survived my first holiday party, with out gaining any weight. Yippee !!!

I know I have been negligent about posting, it just seems like I haven't had anything to say lately. I've finished one afghan for my great nephew in blue and have one started for another great Nephew, however I am out of yarn for the red one and can't find it anywhere. I will post a picture of both right before I mail them out.

If you ever come to my house and wonder why there are leaves in the corners, here is why.

It did snow here a week ago, enough for the girls to make snow angels, but it melted within a day.

We are part of the midwest Ice storm but we had two things going for us that has made it not so bad. One and this is the big one, our power lines are all buried here, so it is very hard to knock them out. and two, it spent most of yesterday at 33.3 degrees F. So most of our precip came down as rain. It did freeze some when it touched the ice already there, as you can see.

As I type I am enjoying one of my favorite things of all time, watching my daughter play, talk and dance while she doesn't know I am watching. I hope that no matter where you are you are safe and warm. Take care !

DD's recital and this years ornaments.

Last night was DD#1s first Piano recital. She did sooooo well. I am soooo proud of her. She was one of only 2 children who did not use music at all. Here she is with the young woman who used to be our neighbor.

I have been stitching, just not on something I can show you right now. So instead here is a picture of the Christmas tree ornaments that DD#2 and I made for my nieces and nephews this year. 10 all total.

We dodged the Ice bullet today when the first winter storm of the season missed us by just a few miles. We had rain instead of ice. As we enter this last month of the year, I hope that you and your families are all well and safe. Thank you for all of your kind words. Until next time.

My Front tree, Silver and white, some day I hope to have it covered with homemade ornaments.

I finally Finished a project

which since I have a major finishing phobia (I can't sew) is amazing. So now maybe I can get back to stitching. : )

Since the 4 ornaments are for the Dec issue of The Gift of Stitching, I can't show you the entire picture until them but here is a sneak preview.

Now I just have to put up a christmas tree and take a picture for the magazine.

I don't know if i will have lost weight tomorrow or not, I rediscovered two of my food loves Friday, baked goods and tacos. It made for a couple of large point days. I'll let you know.

I'm still here

Just recovering from a cold that turned into a sinus infection. I'm starting my second full day on the antibodics, so I should be feeling better soon.

I did go to weigh in on Monday and it hasn't changed. Tracy says it's probable because I have so much crap in my head. ;)

I'm still not stitching, although I desperately need to. I purchased the last of the stuff I need to turn my pieces into ornaments for the Dec issue of TGOS. I will work on those tonight and this weekend,(there are four of them).

The DD's are DH are doing just fine. It is turning colder here, which I am thankful for. Last week DD#2 and I went for a walk to look at red trees in the neighborhood. here is one of my favorite pictures.

Weigh in

Well today was weigh in day. I was a little apprehensive because I have eaten a little closer to the top of my points this week. I was feeling deprived. But I guess I didn't need to worry, I lost 4.2 lbs and am only 2/10 of a lb away from 10 lbs. Hopefully next week.

I'm still not stitching, I really need to get started on my January Project for The Gift of Stitching. I thought I had the perfect fabric, but the I didn't receive the right size (my fault)so now I am looking for another piece and I don't have the time to order it on line. Darn guess I have to go to the LNS tomorrow. : )

A small step backwards and a GREAT weekend

I weighed in this morning and yep, I gained 1.4 lbs back. I spent the extended weekend at my Mom's and didn't eat like I should, I ate Like I always have. Also spending so many hours in the car with just the DD's, I didn't drink any water for two of those four days. Even though I thought about it I still went to my meeting today and got the "Bad" news. Then I came home and bought the stuff to make zero points soup again. I will just jump start myself and keep on keeping on.

This weekend was wonderful. Both Thursday and Sunday were great days to drive. Friday was very cloudy and cool with a constant mist, but Saturday turned out beautiful and I was able to take a couple of pictures of the girls. No you don't get to see them until I have one printed up for DH's desk. : ) but as soon as that is done I will post the pic. i am still not stitching, I don't know why but I just keep telling myself that will change as soon as we have a hard freeze.

Here is a picture from this past weekend. It is the yellow Maple tree in Mom's front yard. All of the kids had a great time jumping in these once they hit the ground.

Another Weigh In

Yesterday was my second week weigh in and I lost another 4.6 lbs for a total of 7 lbs. I feel great !!! This is the first time in a long time I have been able to loose weight. Now if I can just keep with the program this weekend when I go to visit my Mom. I just hope to not gain any more by next Monday.

On the stitching front I am still in a slump. My eyes have been blurry lately so I am going to blame it on them : ) I think it is just allergies because I just had my eyes checked less than 6 months ago.

Since I don't have any stitching to show you I thought I post another flower picture.
Enjoy !

A new look and a questions

I decided to change the look of my blog because I'm not really a color brown type of person. I love Blue !!! In all forms, but my favorite is Indigo. So I am working on finding just the right blue back ground that doesn't make it hard to read or mess up the pictures. What do you think?

Now for the question.... How do you display your collections? I am finding, as I grow older, that I have a number of small rotating collection. The main one right now is Pumpkins. I LOVE Pumpkins, and thus around Halloween Jack O' Lanterns too. I have maybe a dozen or a dozen and 1/2 different pumpkins. Some are lighted some are not, and I don't know how to display them to the best of their abilities. So I thought I would ask you.

Thank you for all of your comments they mean a lot to me. Until next time be safe and healthy.

My first weigh in

was today and I lost 2.4 lbs. I didn't think I had lost anything since my scales at home didn't show any movement. So I was very happy. Now if I can just keep this up.

I haven't been able to concentrate long enough to stitch this week. I think I was trying so hard not to snack, that I just kept myself busy and moving. So I will share with you another of my favorite photos.

DH took this for me at the Sheds Aquarium in Chicago Labor Day weekend 2006. I was rounding up the girls, who wouldn't stand still long enough for me to take the picture.

A Finish and a Start

I finished my sister's Christmas present last night. It is one of my own designs, especially for her.

I started Weight Watchers yesterday with my friend Tracy. Today has not been easy since I usually snack my way through life and I have had to measure and account for everything that goes into my system. I have to get the hang of this or she is going to kill me if my excess weight doesn't first. LOL

My Sister's Christmas Present.

Yes she knows what it is : ) she helped me design it. I thought I would just show you what I have been stitching on the last week. I still have the berries in the border and the house and pine trees at the bottom to go. I think is it turning out much better than I had hoped.

Of Stitching and Dragons

I had help last night Stitching on my sister's Christmas present. I would put the needle through and she would pull it for me.

Melissa at Clay Images made me a DRAGON !!! Her name is Stitch and here she is.

Girl Scouts and Ren Fest take 2

This past Friday DD#1 cross the "Bridge" between brownies and Junior Girl Scouts. I have to say, as a proud Mom, that when she spoke her parts, she was loud enough and did really really well. : )

Yesterday I went the RenFest with the DDs. It was very different from Labor Day. We did a little shopping, rode a couple of rides and were out of there in 2+ hours. DD#2 didn't like being small, in amongs all those tall people. : )

Here is DD#1's face painting and DD#2's wand and butterfly hair clippy. These were the things they wanted for Memories.

DD#2's party

Oh the joy of Multiple 5 year olds LOL. DD#2 had a wonderful wonderful time. All she wanted was to have her friends near, to eat cake and get wet. So everything went accoring to her plan.

News, Sept SAL and Kittens

Yesterday was DH's last day at his current job. Believe it or not he is going back to the original company that moved us to KC. It was a someone told Someone situation. He had a call, a lunch the next day and a job offer the day after that. I am so excited and greatful to Jeff L for his hint in the right ear. I hope I will now have a much Happier DH.
I have broncitus again. But with Antibodics and steroids, I should be good in a couple more days.
