If I go by what I weighed this morning 220.5 I have only gained a 1/2 a pound over Thanksgiving which I believe is a blessing.
If I go by what I weighed last night I am 219.
How can I gain 1.5 lbs over night????? Oh well on with the show as they say. It is grey and gloomy today so I think I will take DD#2 to Wal-mart and walk around the store, working on my steps goal.

The days after
I went to curves this morning and had a good time. Three times around the circut. I have been unable to do the leg press, my hips are really bothering me since my surgery. I guess it's back to the Chiropractor for me.
Tomorrow is weigh in and I am scared.... The Lasagna was way way way too good.

That said HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone. Now I am off to check on the Lasagna (we don't like turkey) and all of the other things that need to be done and on the table at 1:30.

On Children
DD#2 has a cold and was up from about 01:00 on because she can not breath.
DD#1 has a black hole in her brain that seems to absorb all of the information about what homework she has until it is too late. Then she gets defensive (just like her father) when I call her on it and take away privileges until she can prove worthy of them again. It's a good thing it is going to be a long weekend before I have to go through the, what homework do you have tonight question. One Turkey into a princess story is enough.
I wore my pedometer today but since I spent most of the day with a small girl on my lap I didn't get my numbers up where they should be. I have decided that since my numbers were so low to begin with I should try for a more obtainable goal and so have set my goal at 5000 or more steps instead of the 10,000. I don't want to set myself up for failure so early in the program. Right now I am at 3619 steps, I am going to go jog on the mini tramp and try to get it at or about 5000 before bed time.
I did keep to my diet, which is amazing since I made pancakes from scratch tonight, one of my favorite meals. I didn't eat everything that was left, instead I only ate my two and wrapped the others up for DD#1s breakfast tomorrow.

Lazy Sunday
No wonder I have gained so much weight. I relaxed on Sunday, and when I checked my pedometer that night I had 4362, less than 1/2 the 10,000 recommended for loosing or maintaining weight. Combine that with all of the eating I did because my hormones were raging out of control. And PLFFFFT, I blew up the Harry Potter's Aunt without the ability to be deflated by magic. Eating did go well, I ate only one helping of things and had a snack of popcorn which I shared with DD#2 and Dh so I didn't eat it all myself. Oh well Mondays another day, back on the 10,000 track.

Saturday
I managed to get another work out in at Curves yesterday. It was nice to leave the DD's with their pancakes and Dh and just walk away for a while. I wore my pedometer while I was there and for most of the day and had over 7000 steps. I did take it off to play on the floor with the DDs and forgot to put it back on for a couple of hours, so I really don't know how many steps I had, it will take a little bit of getting used to.
The rest of the day did not go as well so I afraid my eating suffered. I did manage to stick to my single serving at meals but there was more snacking in between.

Of pedometers and HIp Hugger Pants
BAH HUMBUG !!!!
I hate those pants and that is all there seems to be in the stores these days. So unfortunately as the girth around my middle has grown I have had to purchase a few pairs.
Lets back up a minute...
Yesterday I went and purchased a pedometer. The DDs have destroyed my other one. I brought it home calibrated it and was all set to see how many steps I did today while cleaning house. It is warm here to day so I wore shorts, you guessed it hip hugger shorts because they have pockets to carry small toys from one room to another. I attached my pedometer and got to work. By the time I was almost done I checked my steps and I had only 1752 steps taken in a couple hours of cleaning and going up and down the stairs to make sure DD#2 hadn't destroyed anything I had already cleaned. That is when I noticed that if the darn thing isn't exactly perpendicular to the floor it doesn't record and since I am such a long waisted person no matter what I did with that thing on those shorts I couldn't get it to work.
So after cleaning a four bedroom house, chasing DD#2 all over the place and playing with the dogs I can now say I only have taken 3468 steps today, give or take the couple thousand that didn't record.
Tomorrow LAUNDRY and a different pair of shorts.
I slipped a little tonight on my food intake, it is Friday Family Fun night and I had a small bowl of ice cream while we were watching our movie. I will give myself credit for choosing the smallest bowl in the cupboard instead of my normal sized cereal bowl.

My first curves work out.
I completed my first curves work out today, and now I remember why I like that place so much. I love the music and the fact that there are other ladies there to talk to. Renee the owner was very happy to see me back.
I have also managed to keep myself to one of everything today except graham crackers, I had one and 1/2 to finish off the package. Oh well. I haven't reached my quota of water but I have cut back on my soda to one can per day of Mt. Dew.
The wood stove is finished, if only the contractor can find the bricks to match we will be able to finish the brick work around the fireplace and the mantel. DH is insistant on heating the house mostly with wood this winter. I suppose as long as he doesn't expect me to tramp through the woods with both DD's in tow looking for downed trees. I'm Ok with it.

Good to Go
My two week check up went really well today. I am now good to go back to my normal activities. Or maybe I should say the activities that were normal before my problems began. My exercise today was walking around Sam's club trying to find all of the things that I needed that they had moved.
I know, I know it is not much exercise but after all of the poking and proding at the doctors office I didn't feel like moving much. I have stuck to my only one of everything since yesterday afternoon and instead of my usual stack of pancakes at our favorite lunch place, I had a veggie omlet.
I am soooo proud of DD#1 she decided last night that she wanted to take Tae Kwon Do. Almost nine years ago exactly, I had to stop taking TKD a week before I tested for my second degree brown belt, because I found out I was pregnant with DD#1. I strongly believe that every woman should learn some form of self defense both of my daughters will learn something. Besides, sparing with her at higher belt levels will give me a legal reason to beat 0n her. HEHEHE or maybe it is the other way around.
I have planned on weighing in each Wednesday morning, so this morning I weighed and I was 222, yes two lbs lighter than yesterday but I do tend to go up and down a little.

Just a Start
Here it is, my first entry. This blog is to help me keep track of my exercise program and weight loss, and to give me a place to vent when I screw up. : )
I started out today at 224 lbs, I joined curves and my first active day will be Thursday. DD#2 and I went for a walk to the park and I walked around the play zone twelve times while she played. I took the puppy with us hoping to wear her out a little.
I am supposed to take DD#1 to meet Master Johnson tonigh. I am currently to heavy to get back into Tae Kwon Do, but hopefully that will change. When I stopped taking TKD 9 years ago when I was pregnant with DD#1 I was in the best shape of my life, now I am in the worst. I can not longer keep this pace up. If DD#1 signs up I will finally get someone to spare with. hehehe
