Another week.

Another week has passed and I didn't get as much done as I had hoped.
I didn't stitch anything,
but I did read a lot of books by NIna Kiriki Hoffman.
Took both girls to the dentist, no cavities.
Cleared out the living room, dining room and hallways so they could be painted. Most of the walls are Cottage Cream with a little bit of New Hunter below the chair rail in the dinning room. DH chose the green since most every other room in the house has a blue color scheme.

Now I am trying to lemon oil every piece of wood furniture in the house and put those rooms back together. Not an easy task. We have lived here 14 years and have a lot of Stuff. I am trying to declutter some of it as I go.

I did manage yesterday to look for the fibers for the May stitch along with Goldie. Now I just need the fabric. I did find the fabric for Snowman fence, so I will be putting that in my rotation, after the stitch along.

Have a great week !

Children, motorcycles and Finishes

Yesterday was a very busy day. It started with Muffins for Mom at DD#1's school and ended with a snowflake finish. Muffins for Mom is a chance for Mom to take their children to school and sit down and eat a muffin and juice with them before walking them to their classes. DD#1 and I had a great time. We went back to school at 3:00 for DDs publishing party. Each of the children in her class wrote a book about an animal found in or around Austrailia. DDs was about Green Sea Turtles.

Here she is reading to her sister.

When DH came home the girls were playing at the neighbors, and they graciously agreed to watch the girls so we could go for the first motorcycle ride of the season. We rode for over an hour, my longest ride yet. It is getting easier to relax when we are on the country roads but I am still REALLY nervous about ride on the interstate at 70+ MPH.

The night ended after I put the DDs to bed with me sitting down and finishing my second snowflake ornament.

The same pattern as the first one just stitched in a different way.

Hope your weekend is great.

Our newest neighbors

Our neighbors cat had five kittens late Monday night. The children on the street stop by every morning to visit "their Kitten" DD#1 has claimed one of the black kittens. It's a good thing she realizes that she can't keep it, because the dogs would have a fit if she tried. : )

A couple of finishes

As I sit here waiting for DH to get home, his plane has been delayed in Boston, I thought I would update my finishes.

Yesterday the girls and I went to visit my friend and her boys. It was craft night and I made two of these bracelets, one for DD#1 and one for myself. They are on memory wire.

I also finished a small ornament this morning. It is a freebie by Jan Eaton. The fiber is a Sugar Maple Cotton Candy floss and the fabric is a white opalescent evenweave. There are 4 of these little snowflakes and I plan on stitching each of them this way and then once again in the Assisi manner of stitching. Then I will put them back to back.

Another week

Another finish

Rain by Praire Schooler

DH left this morning at 3:30 am to catch a flight to Boston for a convention. I made the mistake of watching the weather before he left. He doesn't like to fly, so I didn't get much sleep until I knew he had landed safely. Then I put DD#2 on her new computer game and took a short snooze on the couch beside her. I hate doing that but I don't think I would have made it through the day if I hadn't.

Tomorrow the girls and I are going to a friends house to play and have dinner. Her DH is gone too. DD#1 and I are taking our beading things and plan on making stretchy bracelets for her. It should be a good time.

I have decided that inbetween Paradigm Lost, SALs and Model stitching, that I am going to work on all of the small designs that I have been collecting for years. Ornaments, freebies, abstracts. Most of them should not take more than a couple of days to a week. Wish me luck : )

April Cow Finish

The stitch along this Month is a freebie cow from http://silepointcompte.free.fr/ope%20jmfmv/grilles%20ope%20jmfmv.htm here. Goldie is stitching the Zulu cow and Melanie is stitching the Radio cow. I stitched the Lady Bug cow, on Mint linen from R&R using DMC. I changed the colors to the deeper red that our lady bugs are around here. It is going to hang in DD#2's Flower and Bug bed room.

Must Keep Stitching

I'm on the last of the eight projects for The Gift of Stitching. I need to get these done and in the mail. I will update on other things as soon as I'm done and had some sleep.
