Snowman Fence by Raise the Roof Designs

And another of my snowflakes, I finished this while watching Ghost Hunters. : )

Today the girls "Took" me to the zoo to ride the new Carosel. What a beautiful work of Art !!

and then out to lunch for my birthday. It is a truly Beautiful day here after so many days of rain. I hope they have something planned fun for this evening since DH and I won't get to go out for dinner due to his band practice.

Have a great day !

Another finished bookmark

I have completed DD#1s teacher bookmark just in time. Tomorrow is her last day of school.

This one is for her bus driver, Mr Wayne. I will fringe it and seal it and then mail it to him with him M&Ms since he took the last week off to fish.

We finished planting the back yard flower bed. It looks great !!
Today my friend Tracy and I went and had pedicures and out to lunch for our birthdays. It's our once a year treat to ourselves.

That is all I know for now. Have a great week.

A little more than a week worth of news

It started as the previous week ended, with me sick. I finally went to the doctor and picked up an antibodic for my sinus infection, a new inhalor for my Asthma and steriods for my broncitis. After almost a week on the drugs I am now beginning to feel almost 100%.

Previously. DD#2 and I went to the arboretumn. lots of flowers to take pictures of.

and one silly little girl.

DD#1 found our first Iris of the year. This is a part of our yard we will be working on soon.

On Sunday DD#2 went to play in her room and shut the door. Then couldn't open it. The door nob broke and DH had to remove the entire thing. I just wanted to kick the door in, but we tried it his way first.

Today was DD#2's last day of pre-school, here are the bookmarks I finished for her teachers. She said they both really liked them.

I only have one book mark left. Yeah ! The girls and I have worked in the gardens a little bit each day. This is the first year that they have both been interested in it. It has been fun working together.

Until Next Time !!

8 Random Things

Dana Tagged me with this, and try as I might I don't have 8 friends that have already been tagged. So all you get are my 8 random things.

1 Popcorn gives me a headache, even though I love it.
2 I went to college for Recreational Therapy and ended up working in Finance in the real world. I didn't take a single math or finance class in college.
3 Once upon a time I was certified to teach swimming, lifesaving and canoeing.
4 I will never have enough books, music or cross stitch supplies
5 I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
6 I love Puzzles !
7 Blue is my favorite M&M.
8 Most of the time these days I am in desparte need of adult conversation.

UGG and BLAH

The main theme for this week would be, The First Summer Cold. Bah Humbug !!
DD#2 brought the thing home with her and fell ill Monday, by Wednesday she was better but I was getting sick. How come she was sick for 2 days and I am still feeling the miserable effects 5 days later. I must say though I am feeling much better today than I have the last few days. I love Motrin, if you take enough of it, it doesn't matter how bad the bones in your face hurt you can still sleep. : )

Mother's Day was nice and quiet, the DD's bought me flowers and the pots to put them in and DH planted them for me.

We combined our outdoor grilling with the neighbors, because the girls had been all playing together in their pool for most of the afternoon.

I did manage to work on Snowman Fence some this week. I have only a the snow and the buttons to go, but I will put it away until I have the 4 book marks completed that I plan on making for teacher gifts.

Have a great week.

What a week.

or 1/2 a week. We have had rain, rain and more rain. So far we have been very lucky. Lots of rain, thunder and lightning but no tornadoes in my part of the state. My prayers are for those in wester Kansas and Oklahoma who were involved with the horrible tornados that did touch down.

On Wednesday DD#2 and I were susposed to go to the zoo but because of the rain we went to the flower nursery instead.

I finished my May stitch along with Goldie. The Cats Whiskers Desert Rose Scissor pocket. I used a piece of Mushroom Laguna and some Dinky Dyes fibers from last years grab bag.

I then designed and stitched a fob to go with it.

Friday DD#2 and I finally went to the zoo. Her favorite place. It was sunny but VERY humid and I swear there were a 1000+ kids there from all of the field trips that had to be rescheduled to to rain.

Saturday was the my In-laws anniversay, I miss you both, My brothers birthday 37 going on 7 and the 4th anniversay of my Dad's death. I miss you everyday Daddy.

I finish All Together Dead by Charlain Harris, a Sookie Stackhouse book. Gotta love those stories.
And Started Snowman Fence by Raise the Roof. One of my all time favorite designers.

DD#1 finished all of her times tables and we are now struggling with Division. She spends a little of each day with "Her" kitten. DH was grumpy most of the week because of the rain. May is supposed to be a dry month so he can ride his motorcycle, especially with gas as high as it is.

I hope your week went well and you and yours are fine.

May Day

Happy May day everyone! This is a month of many ups and downs in my family. Both sets of parents were married in may. At last count there were 4 or 5 births in the month of May, as well as a death or two. Happy may everyone, enjoy the changing of the seasons and in our little piece of the world the end of school for the summer.

The kittens are offically 2 weeks old so the DDs were able to hold them today.

Here is DD#1's choice, if she could have a cat.

DD#2 and I like this one. It is black with very unique white marking and six toes

And my choice for the May stitch along with Goldie. A 25 count Mushroom laguna scrap that I have left over from the girls stockings and a silk twist from the Dinky Dyes grab bag.

It is starting to rain as I write this, I may be in for a long night, since as she has gotten older our big dog Chloe has become less and less tolerant of any kind of rain. Wish me luck.
